Motif Music Academy policy.

Practice Requirements:

At Motif Music Academy, we believe that consistent practice is key to musical growth. To ensure continued progress, students are expected to commit to the following practice schedules:

30-minute lessons: Minimum of 20 minutes per day
45-minute lessons: Minimum of 30 minutes per day
60-minute lessons: Minimum of 30 minutes or more per day
RCM Exam Students: Practice at least 20 minutes per piece/song, five times a week. No exceptions.

Students who do not practice for 3 consecutive lessons will no longer be able to continue lessons. No exceptions.

Cancellation Policy:

In order to maintain an efficient schedule for all students, the following cancellation policies will be enforced:

Lessons canceled by students or parents within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson time, without prior notice, will be charged as a completed lesson. This includes instances where students are not available for their lesson (no-shows) or cancellations that do not meet the emergency exception.
In the event that I must cancel a lesson within 24 hours, I will apply a 10% discount to the next lesson to accommodate any inconvenience caused.

Book Purchases:

If a book is purchased for the student, the cost of the book plus the receipt will automatically be added to the invoice. I will always ensure you are aware of any required materials in advance.

Withdrawal Policy:

Due to the limited availability of teaching slots, I kindly request that students make a one-semester commitment to lessons. This ensures that I can plan my schedule effectively for all students. Any student wishing to discontinue lessons in the middle of the Fall or Spring semester will be charged for four lessons as compensation for the reserved time and teacher availability. Students discontinuing lessons will also need to give a month's notice prior to discontinuing.

Referral Incentive:

To show my appreciation for families who recommend Motif Music Academy to others, I am offering a $20 incentive for each successful referral. To qualify for this incentive, the referring family must notify me, and the new student must contact me to schedule their first lesson.
